Do I have to log an attack while it is happening?
No. One tap starts the log and nothing else is required. Mira dims itself and stops asking for input. Severity, symptoms, treatments and context can all be added hours later, the next day, or never.
Does Mira work without an internet connection?
Yes. Mira is local-first: logging, history, patterns and reports all work offline on the device. An account is only needed to back up and sync across devices, and the queue uploads on its own once you are back online.
Can Mira tell me what triggers my migraines?
No, and it will not pretend to. Mira reports patterns it can actually see in what you recorded, states how much data each pattern is based on, and stays quiet when there is not enough. A pattern is something to discuss with a clinician, not a cause.
What does Mira do with Apple Health data?
Health access is optional and read-only. Mira reads daily summaries only: sleep, steps, heart rate variability, resting heart rate and active energy. It never writes back, and you can revoke access at any time in system settings without losing your migraine journal.
Is my migraine data private?
Your journal is stored encrypted on your device. If you create an account it is also stored in your own private account, readable only by you. Mira does not sell data and does not use your journal to train models. Privacy details.
Can I get my data out, or delete it?
Yes, both, from Settings in the app. Export produces a complete JSON copy of everything on your account, including anything still waiting to upload. Deletion removes the account and its journal after a 30-day grace period during which you can change your mind.
What can I bring to a doctor's appointment?
Mira produces a doctor-ready PDF for the last 30 or 90 days: migraine days, attack times and durations, peak severity, functional impact, aura, and medication with relief and timing. It is a factual summary written for a clinical conversation, not a diagnosis.
What is free and what needs a subscription?
Logging attacks, recording treatments and context, and browsing your own history are free and stay free. A subscription covers the longer-range pattern analysis and doctor-ready reports.
Can Mira help during an emergency?
No. Mira is not an emergency or diagnostic service. If you have a sudden severe headache unlike your usual attacks, or a headache with weakness, confusion, vision loss or speech difficulty, contact emergency services or a qualified professional immediately.
